Bella Samba was born in 2008, when a group of friends, moved more by passion than by resources, decided to transform a dream into a comparsa. From scratch, they built their identity: they designed costumes, gathered musicians, obtained materials, and built the first floats. Everything was the result of collective effort and the conviction that the carnival of Concordia deserved a new heartbeat.
The debut came the following year, with “Galactic Carnival”, and the freshness of 182 members who won over the public and earned them an immediate promotion to category A. Since then, Bella Samba has not stopped surprising. First with innovative proposals such as “Bichos”, where unconventional materials made every costume shine, or with the imposing journey to India of “Taj Mahal, a love story made of stone”, where sculptures and carvings elevated the staging. Then came the gods and freedom, and with them the first great distinction: an award-winning highlight that confirmed the chosen path.
The true turning point came in 2013, when the comparsa presented “Lu’Um, the prophecy between good and evil”. That night its official anthem was born, “Arriba Concordia”, which over time became a popular song that still resonates in the corsodromo. Also born there was the name that would forever mark its rhythmic pulse: Eterna Guerrera, its unmistakable drum section.
From then on, Bella Samba dared to break the mold. It took a historic step by crowning Sofía Camará as queen of the drum section, the first drag queen to occupy that position in Concordia, reaffirming its diverse and brave imprint. It paid endearing tributes such as “The Little Prince back home”, celebrated the bicentennial of Argentine independence, played with its irreverent side in “Vanidosa Bella Samba”, and dared to celebrate its first decade with a song to the number 10 and the beliefs that surround it.
Artistic growth was crowned with unforgettable runner-up finishes. First with “Samba de Raíz”, which traced the history of samba, and then with “Caá, the good plant”, inspired by the legend of yerba mate, which also marked a milestone by giving Bella Samba its first award-winning figures as Flag Bearer and Master of Ceremonies.
Not even the pause imposed by the pandemic managed to extinguish its fire. In 2022 it returned with “The story they never told”, vindicating the native peoples against the wrongly named conquest of America, and won the crown of Carnival Queen for the first time.
Afterwards came the celebrations for its 15 years, with “Chronicles of a Good Heart” paying tribute to San Antonio de Padua de la Concordia, achieving the conquest of its first Male Carnival Pasista; the following year the brilliance of “Of happy and crazy, Bella Samba has a little bit”, dedicated to historical figures who, despite being called crazy, changed the course of the world, crowned Sofía Camará as Carnival Queen; In 2025 it explored the mysteries and beliefs surrounding the number 7 with “7 is life and I didn't know it”.
Today, with more than 15 years of history, Bella Samba is synonymous with passion, identity, and diversity. Its anthem, its drum section Eterna Guerrera, its queens, pasistas and award-winning figures, its innovative art, and its people who sing and dance every summer, have made it a popular icon.
Bella Samba is not just a comparsa: it is a collective dream that never stopped growing, with the same strength of those friends who in 2008 ignited the first spark.
