The mayor Enrique Cresto signed the agreement with the trade union organizations, which establishes a 4% increase in the salaries of municipal employees and a year-end bonus. It will be effective this Thursday, November 30, with the payment of the current month's wages. In addition, the payment dates for the mid-year bonus and December wages were announced.
After several meetings in which representatives of the trade union entities with jurisdiction in the municipality, the Secretary of Economy and Finance, Accountant Mónica Lifschitz, and the Economic Advisor to the Executive, Accountant Álvaro Sierra, participated, the mayor signed the agreement that establishes the salary increase for the employees of the Municipality of Concordia.
"This is achieved through a great effort and commitment from all parties. Upon taking office, we froze the staff headcount, and the only new personnel hired in these two years have been the ten traffic agents who joined through a competitive examination and specific training," noted Mayor Cresto. "The unions are collaborating in this clear decision where we want to improve the quality of work for municipal employees, ensure they have the greatest number of benefits possible, and provide good service to the community, elevating public employment. That is the goal we set for ourselves and which we are achieving with the support, commitment, and dedication of all municipal workers," highlighted Cresto.
Regarding the salary increase agreement, the mayor pointed out "it is an annual cumulative of more than 26%, because a 12% increase was granted in March, 10% in June, and now this 4% which goes to the base salary," he detailed. The increase will be effective starting with the payment of November wages, the payment date for which is this Thursday, November 30, the last business day of the month.
At the same time, the agreement established the payment of a non-remunerative Year-End Bonus in the amount of $1800 for all municipal employees, which will be paid on January 20, 2018. It should be noted that all political officials and council members are excluded from this benefit, as it is a salary compensation exclusively for employees.
Finally, it was also announced that through Decree 1.100/2017, the payment dates for the mid-year bonus and December salaries are set, with advance notice that allows for the proper administrative organization of municipal funds. The payment of the second mid-year bonus to municipal employees will be made on December 20, before Christmas, while the payment of the December wages will be effective on the 29th of said month.
