This Wednesday morning, with the presence of Mayor Francisco Azcué, the opening of bids for the public tender for the expansion and redevelopment of the Concordia Pedestrian Mall was held.
The work is part of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, with an official budget exceeding 60 million pesos, to be executed with own funds.
This is a first step of the “Concordia Open-Air Shopping Center” project, carried out by the Municipality and the Concordia Center of Commerce, Industry and Services. In this instance, it is planned to extend the Pedestrian Mall from Catamarca/Urdinarrain street to 3 de Febrero/Ramírez.
“This tender is to carry out the installation of a series of mobile modules, consisting of benches, signage, trees in pots, and lighting in what will be the extension of the Pedestrian Mall during the weekends as a pilot test,” noted Mateo Sastre, Undersecretary of Public Works.
Four bids were submitted, belonging to the firms: CYALCO S.R.L, COCCO Construcciones, Eduardo Marcelo Chezzi, and Jorge Fabricio Altamirano.
The “Concordia Open-Air Shopping Center” aims to revitalize and support the commercial sector, establishing itself as a strategic corridor, with high pedestrian traffic, modern, sustainable, and friendly to the urban environment.
