This Saturday, January 25th, the Concordia Carnival began, the greatest summer festival in Concordia. Around ten thousand people sang, danced, and cheered as the comparsas passed through the track of the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" Municipal Corsódromo. Spectators from different towns in the region gathered to experience a festival characterized by the passion of both the artists parading and the fans in the stands. Until the end of February, Concordia is in "Carnival mode".
The first comparsa to step onto the track was Imperio, telling the story of Zumbí. Then it was the turn of Ráfaga and their invitation to the magical and wonderful world of fairies. Bella Samba invited the audience to learn about the history of Yerba Mate, a ritual of friendship. And the closing of the first night was led by Emperatriz, champion of the 2019 edition, with their stories from the heart.
The "2020 Battle of Passions" began with the traditional ribbon-cutting, performed by the mayor Alfredo Francolini, the administrator of ENOHSA Enrique Cresto, the national senator Edgardo Kueider, the president of the Chamber of Deputies of Entre Ríos Ángel Giano, the provincial senator Armando Gay, the manager of Manaos Orlando Canido (official sponsor of the Carnival), the 2019 Carnival Queen Carolina Panozzo Zénere, and the authorities of the Carnival Entity, Sebastián Cuberli (executive director) and Matias Soto (coordinator of Popular Festivals).
Also present at the ribbon-cutting were the 2019 Carnival Queen of the Pequeños Duendes Zaira Cisneros, the Queens of the different festivals of Concordia specially invited, the Councilors and the Secretaries of the Municipal Cabinet, representatives of the Chambers of Commerce, Tourism, and Emcontur, among other authorities.
More than ten thousand people enjoyed a night in which everything went well, forecasting an edition that will be a true success. The inaugural parade was followed live from different parts of the country by thousands of cyber-spectators, through the online broadcasts that different media outlets carried out on social networks, amplifying the reach and showing why it is the most passionate Carnival.
The following parades will be on Saturdays, February 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, and Monday the 24th, during the long Carnival weekend. Tickets, chairs, and tables in the VIP sector can be purchased online at www.concordiacarnaval.com.ar.
