This weekend, the Municipality of Concordia carried out a new territorial approach that featured the participation of more than 20 areas that received and addressed various demands from residents of the Tavella Norte and Tavella Sur, San Pantaleón, and Victorino Simón neighborhoods.
The main axes are presence in the field, direct contact with families, and networking, allowing for the completion of procedures, health check-ups, and social assistance, shortening distances and times.
Mayor Francisco Azcué remarked that “the most important thing here are the residents who can be part of these spaces: carrying out procedures, learning about programs or benefits, and speaking directly with officials, issues that perhaps during the week, due to distance or schedules, they cannot reach the Municipality for.”
To achieve these objectives, “we look for strategic locations, getting closer to the most remote neighborhoods but also those with more families, as was the case at the time with the northwest area or the Sarmiento neighborhood. We will continue to visit the neighborhoods, periodically, throughout the year,” Azcué announced.
Throughout the day and through the Secretariat of Health, together with the Red Cross, 50 medical consultations were carried out; 60 vaccines were administered, allowing for the completion or updating of the national vaccination schedule. In addition, HIV and syphilis tests were performed and inquiries regarding contraception were addressed.
For its part, the Municipal Veterinary Directorate performed 33 free castrations and administered 65 rabies vaccines to pets.
The Food Safety Directorate held a food handling course, which was attended by 28 people.
For its part and through the Traffic and Transport Directorate, 60 people participated in the course to obtain a driver's license and 150 people carried out the procedures for updating and extending the benefits of the SUBE card.
