The Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS), together with the national company Forever Pipe, is conducting a video inspection and diagnostic study of sewage collectors using robotic equipment with high-definition video in four strategic areas of the city with the aim of improving service performance.
“We planned the route through different sectors of the city where we have collectors with operational deficits. Through the technology available to this company, which is practically unique in the country, a diagnosis can be made to achieve the refunctionalization of those collectors and thus improve the service of the entire city sewage system, which is one of the priority axes of work that we promote from EDOS together with the mayor Alfredo Francolini,” explained the Technical Manager of the agency, Vanesa Leonardelli.
The first stage of the technological study was carried out at Pellegrini and Scattini streets, Centro collector, Eva Perón and Antártida Argentina, La Bianca collector, and Nogueira and Virgen de Fátima, Agua Patito Neighborhood collector and surrounding neighborhoods.
Regarding the work performed, Sergio Carruega, Commercial Director of “Forever Pipe,” described that “the task consisted of a televised diagnosis with images that was carried out with robotic video inspection equipment. It allowed us to get a real dimension of what is happening inside the pipes, whether there are obstructions, whether there are breaks, among other problems.”
He then added that the study “evaluates which rehabilitation methods are to be used, which in this case, proposes non-destructive methods that do not interfere with the breaking of streets so that, precisely in busy places, traffic is not hindered,” and added that “together with EDOS, it will be determined according to the needs and emergencies they have, in order to be able to do it in the short term.”
“We work in Latin America, in Argentina, in Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, on pipe rehabilitation with a non-destructive ecosystem,” said Carruega regarding the company dedicated to the maintenance of rainwater and industrial-sewage infrastructure.
Finally, he pointed out that “the visit to Concordia is very important for us because it is a relevant city in the country and we believe that we can bring many solutions that are being applied in Buenos Aires and in all the capitals of the world.”
