Under strict safety protocols and through joint work between various institutions and agencies, a new organ procurement operation was carried out this Saturday at the Concordia "JJ. Pierrestegui" Airport.
Two planes arrived in our city, one from CABA and another from the province of Córdoba, transporting medical teams and professionals who led the complex operation that allowed for saving the lives of patients who were on the national waiting and emergency list.
The procedure was carried out under strict safety protocols, being part of the national organ donation and transplant system in Argentina, coordinated by INCUCAI and CUCAIER.
Weather conditions were a preponderant factor, which forced the development of major logistical challenges. One example was that the plane transporting the medical professionals landed in Concordia as it had the most suitable facilities for landing.
From the local airport, the teams were transported by vehicles from the Secretariat of Health of the Municipality of Concordia and units coordinated by the Secretary of Health, Dr. Diego Sauré, of the Directorate of Health Emergencies (Ministry of Health of Entre Ríos), accompanied by the Municipal Forest Brigade, which operates under the orbit of the Directorate of Civil Protection and Health Emergencies, to the "Justo José de Urquiza" hospital in Concepción del Uruguay.
This coordinated work guaranteed the execution of the operation and allowed the intervention to be carried out within the scheduled times, which is fundamental in this type of health action.
The procedure, which began on Saturday morning, concluded in the early hours of this Sunday, involving all the personnel of the Air Commercial Development Entity of the Concordia Airport (EDAAC) as well as the entire airport community: ANAC, PSA, EANA, ORSNA, the Meteorological Service, and the Sapper Firefighters.
