This Monday, the First Assembly of the Municipal Council for Senior Citizens was held, where the importance of creating joint working spaces to strengthen public policies aimed at this sector was highlighted.
During the meeting, led by the Secretary of Productive Development, Eng. Federico Schattenhofer, different topics related to the reality experienced by senior citizens were addressed. Among the main points discussed, the service provided to this sector of the population in both the public and private spheres was analyzed, evaluating its operation and possibilities for improvement.
Likewise, one of the central axes of the exchange was the search for solutions to the long waiting hours that many older people must face when carrying out different procedures or accessing services, raising the need to advance in mechanisms that allow for optimizing attention and guaranteeing more agile and dignified treatment.
In this sense, the Secretary of Productive Development, Federico Schattenhofer, pointed out that “the formation and operation of this Council is fundamental to listen to the different actors linked to the subject and work in an articulated manner on concrete solutions that improve the quality of life of our senior citizens”.
For her part, Gladys Portugal, Head of the Department of Policies for the Elderly, remarked that “this space will allow for channeling concerns and proposals from those who work daily with older people, with the aim of building more efficient public policies in line with the needs of this sector of the community”.
In the same vein, councilwoman Verónica Del Boca highlighted the importance of articulated work between the different areas and pointed out that “these spaces for dialogue and collective construction are fundamental to think of solutions that guarantee better conditions of care and greater respect towards our senior citizens”.
From the municipality, they highlighted that this space for participation will continue working on the development of proposals and concrete actions that contribute to improving the quality of life of the city's senior citizens.
