Organized by the Undersecretariat of Sports of the Municipality of Concordia, the first Congress on Physical Activity, Functional Health and Longevity was held, which brought together prominent professionals and saw the participation of 600 people.
Throughout the day, talks and training sessions focused on sports, health and well-being were held, aimed at professional and amateur athletes.
Mayor Francisco Azcué stated that “when we talk about aiming to improve the quality of life of the residents of Concordia, we are also talking about activities like these where tools are provided, through professionals, for health care and sports practice”.
“The goal is to take care of our health, encouraging people to play sports, engage in recreational activities, study, and develop themselves,” affirmed Azcué, adding that for this it is important to do so “jointly with the private sector, hence the call to physical education teachers, gyms, and trainers. By maintaining an orderly pace of life, which includes working, studying, being with family, and avoiding excesses, our performance will always be higher and the results, both personal and for those around us, will be better”.
For her part, Ivana Pérez, Undersecretary of Sports, expressed her satisfaction with the response to the call: “we expected 200 people and about 600 ended up registering, which marks the importance that this Congress has acquired, which, although it was a pilot test, gives us a basis to continue with this type of activity”.
In this sense, she indicated that during the day surveys were carried out among the participants “to know firsthand what they want or consider necessary for us to work on from the State in the future. That is the path and in that line we will continue,” concluded Pérez.
