More than 6000 students representing 30 educational institutions of different levels participated. “As Argentines, we must embrace those values promoted by the celebration of Independence Day” remarked Mayor Azcué.
With the presence of Mayor Francisco Azcué and under the motto “We remember the courage of those who began to forge a free Nation,” the patriotic parade was held in the northwest area, organized by the Undersecretariat of Culture and Education of the Municipality of Concordia, with the participation of the Departmental Directorate of Schools and institutions of the city.
This parade was born in 2010, during the Bicentennial of the Nation, thanks to the initiative of two principals: Graciela Quintana, from the Public School of Private Management No. 69 “San Francisco”, and Patricia Peralta, from Public School No. 71 “Independencia”. Over time, more institutions and directors joined, consolidating itself as a deeply rooted tradition in our community.
“Today we meet to commemorate those who made this Nation great, to fill ourselves with patriotism at a time when we must bring out the best in ourselves so that our country, the province, and the city can move forward,” remarked Azcué, who also highlighted the work and role of teachers “who carry out the noble task of educating every day, giving love and support to our youth.”
“As Argentines, we must embrace those values promoted by the celebration of Independence Day, which is why it is very moving to see the children parading, representing their schools, and their families accompanying them.”
For his part, the Undersecretary of Culture and Education Carlos Gatto, after thanking the commitment of all those who collaborated in the realization of the parade, highlighted that “more than 6000 students from primary, secondary, and adult levels participated, representing more than 30 institutions. We experienced a true patriotic celebration in the northwest area.”
Present were Vice Mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza; Departmental Director of Schools Julio Barrios; Council members, municipal officials, representatives of the Armed Forces and Security Forces; Malvinas Veterans, school supervisors, teachers, and the general public.
