During his visit to Concordia, Governor Rogelio Frigerio toured the new water treatment plant, a project that is already 92 percent complete. The resumption of the work was finalized following an agreement signed with the National Government.
Accompanied by Mayor Francisco Azcué and his management team, Frigerio highlighted the importance of the infrastructure and expressed his satisfaction with the resumption of the work. He remarked that the project, which began construction in 2017 and will be completed in the next 12 months, will allow residents "to have the peace of mind that they will have good quality water, with pressure and in the necessary quantity to meet their needs." He also pointed out that the new plant incorporates sludge treatment to prevent the elements used to purify the water from returning to the river, being the only one of its kind in Entre Ríos.
"These were efforts we made as soon as the mayor conveyed his concern to me, because the work had been stalled for a long time. We got to work, the national government responded to us, and today it is already restarting," he stressed, after which he recalled that the works are contemplated in a specific agreement signed with the National Government on May 27 of last year.
For his part, Mayor Azcué highlighted the direct impact on the quality of life of the citizens: "This changes people's lives. We have many neighborhoods with water problems, which in summer simply do not have water," stated the mayor. He emphasized that the reactivation is an achievement of coordinated work and the governor's efforts before the National Government, indicating that "this highlights how important it is to work as a team, to manage together, and also the importance that the governor gives to the city of Concordia."
The activity was attended by Vice Governor Alicia Aluani, the Secretary General of the Government, Mauricio Colello; and the Ministers of Planning, Infrastructure and Services, Darío Schneider; of Treasury and Finance, Fabián Boleas; of Economic Development, Guillermo Bernaudo; and of Government and Labor, Manuel Troncoso. Also present were the President of the General Council of Education, Alicia Fregonese, and provincial legislators Gloria Cozzi and Marcelo López.
