Governor Rogelio Frigerio toured the Las Palmeras Camping site, located in the Salto Grande lake perimeter in Concordia, where he inaugurated the site's renovation works, within the framework of a policy to recover public spaces for the community's enjoyment and to strengthen tourism in the region.
Accompanied by Mayor Francisco Azcué; the Secretary General of the Government, Mauricio Colello; the president of the Salto Grande Development Corporation (Codesal), Eduardo Cristina; and the general coordinator of the Provincial Executing Unit (UEP), Gustavo Cusinato, the governor highlighted that "many of the things you see here were done without money or with very little money, because it was not a resource problem that this place was abandoned or encroached upon, but a problem of political decision, commitment, and having clear objectives about why we are here." In that sense, he stressed the importance of recovering and renovating public spaces for the use and enjoyment of all residents of Entre Ríos.
Likewise, Frigerio pointed out that there are other strategic works that require investment to boost tourism development, such as the 14 highway and the airport. "We must continue working together with the mayor on the enormous challenge of taking care of our lake and our rivers, with works such as effluent treatment plants. There are many things that the State can and must do to promote the natural beauties we have," he stated. Finally, he remarked on the need to sustain these processes over time: "We will pass, but the residents of Concordia will remain enjoying these wonders. It is key that these places never again fall into the hands of a few opportunists who appropriate what belongs to everyone."
For his part, the Secretary General of the Government, Mauricio Colello, highlighted the work carried out to recover a space that was in private hands and deteriorated. "Today we can say that we not only recovered this place, but we renovated it for the pride of all the residents of Concordia and the province," he expressed. In that line, he maintained that the camping site "must once again be a provincial jewel for tourism and become the showcase and gateway to Entre Ríos for those who visit us."
Meanwhile, Mayor Francisco Azcué expressed his pride in "being part of this team and this management project that governs the province today, in which Concordia occupies an important place." In addition, he congratulated Codesal and all the teams that worked on the recovery of the site so that today it is a reality.
In his turn, the president of Codesal, Eduardo Cristina, pointed out that "for us, it is a source of pride to be here at this moment, especially because of what this place represents." He recalled that "until a few months ago it was, as is commonly said, a nest of rats, and today we come to show the result of a joint and articulated work of the province." In that framework, he thanked the UEP for the work carried out in different parts of Entre Ríos and Enersa for supporting the renovation of the space.
Finally, Cristina remarked that the recovery of the Las Palmeras Camping site "is just the beginning of a great job" and assured that the objective is for the community to be able to take ownership of the place and enjoy it. "It is a collective effort, not only of Codesal, but of an entire province that took on the recovery of an iconic site like the Salto Grande lake," he concluded.
