The Municipality of Concordia, through the Employment Directorate, informs that the start date for registration for the Wood Lacquering Course has been modified, and will now begin on Monday, September 28, instead of Tuesday, September 29, as initially scheduled.
The training is aimed at providing practical tools to learn traditional wood finishing techniques, both for working on new furniture and for the restoration, renovation, and enhancement of existing furniture.
During the course, content related to the preparation and conditioning of wood, correct sanding techniques, surface preparation before painting, application of water-based hydrolacquer using a pad, and application of solvent-based polyurethane lacquer using a brush will be covered.
Work will also be done on the quantity and correct way to apply each coat, sanding between coats, correcting imperfections, and different techniques necessary to achieve a smooth, professional-quality finish.
One of the highlights of the proposal is that participants will be able to learn how to obtain a professional finish without the need to use a compressor or spray gun, incorporating simple tools and procedures to develop this artisanal technique.
The training will be led by Martín Coduri, who will share technical and practical knowledge related to wood lacquering and the different stages necessary to achieve an even, resistant, and quality finish.
Within the framework of this proposal, the company BOURLOT – Centro de Cortes, Placas & Herrajes will provide the materials and elements necessary for the development of the training, supporting this initiative of training and strengthening of trades.
This collaboration between the public and private sectors will allow for bringing concrete tools and knowledge to the residents of Concordia, favoring access to practical training linked to a trade.
The course will take place on Tuesday, October 6, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, in the Labor Training Room, located on the 1st floor of the Civic Center of Concordia.
Registration will begin on Monday, September 28, at the Employment Directorate of the Municipality of Concordia, located on the 1st floor of the Civic Center, at Mitre and Pellegrini.
The proposal is part of the training and job preparation policies promoted by the Municipality of Concordia, aimed at providing concrete tools for the development of new trades, strengthening labor capacities, and expanding opportunities for insertion and productive development.
With this initiative, the Municipality of Concordia continues to promote instances of practical training and articulation with different actors in the community, recovering and transmitting knowledge related to traditional trades and generating new tools for work and entrepreneurship.
