This morning, at the Purchasing and Supplies Directorate of the Municipality of Concordia, the opening of bids for the public tender for the repaving of Paula Albarracín street was held.
This is an investment to be executed with own resources and is part of the public works plan announced by Mayor Francisco Azcué. The work will be carried out in the sector between España and Presidente Illia streets.
“It is a very important project for us and for the residents who had been requesting it for a long time, with an investment of around 800 million pesos. Today the first step was taken, which is the opening of bids, and once the administrative case file process advances and it is awarded, the winning company will be in a position to begin the work,” specified Azcué.
In that sense, he remarked that “this will be done with municipal funds, which is why we want to convey to the taxpayers that this is the destination we are giving to the resources. We do it by being aware of a responsible, honest, and transparent administration” which often “forces us to make difficult but necessary decisions. We were voted in to put the resources where they need to go, knowing that there are priorities that are what the people demand of us.”
The Undersecretary of Public Works Mateo Sastre indicated that this project includes the repaving of Paula Albarracín street, between España and Presidente Illia streets, representing around 16,000 m2 of pavement to be intervened.
Milling tasks of the existing surface are contemplated; asphalt patching; concrete patching; reconstruction of gutters and street intersections in concrete. In total, 3 bids were submitted, all of which were found admissible.
“This is the first stage of the 1.5 billion peso repaving plan announced in due course, which includes other streets in the city that present the same conditions,” specified Sastre.
