In preparation for a new edition of the Concordia Carnival, the Municipality carried out various repair and maintenance tasks in the warehouses of the former North Station, where the carnival groups build their floats, and in the offices of the Carnival Agency.
The Secretariat of Public Works, headed by Secretary Mireya López Bernis, and the Secretariat of Public Services, headed by Secretary Jorge Mendieta and Undersecretary Oscar Santana, arranged for various conditioning, refurbishment, and improvement tasks, both in the warehouse premises used by the carnival groups and in the offices of the Carnival Agency itself (in the former North Station building, at San Lorenzo and Gob. Cresto streets).
"Various refurbishment, repair, and painting works, among others, were carried out, leaving the offices in optimal conditions for all the work coming up in these months, when activities intensify," said the President of the Carnival Agency, Sebastián Cuberli, regarding the matter.
"There is a firm decision by the mayor Enrique Cresto that our Carnival continues to grow, because it is a cultural and tourist event of relevance for the city," noted Cuberli. "From the Secretariat of Public Works as well as from the Secretariat of Public Services, as far as resources allow and with great effort, improvements continue to be made. I want to thank the permanent willingness of all municipal areas that work to support the growth of the Carnival," he highlighted.
Health check-ups for participants
"In the coming days, medical check-ups will begin, which are mandatory for all Carnival participants and will be carried out by the teams from the Municipal Secretariat of Health. They will be held at the Agency's offices, which is why this conditioning that was carried out is important, for the greater comfort of everyone, both the health professionals who will be attending and the artists who will be undergoing the check-ups," anticipated Cuberli.
In November, Carnival throughout the country
Finally, the head of the organization in charge of the Carnival announced that "on the first weekend of November, we will have a double event of relevance. On one hand, at the Port Warehouses, together with the Costanera Agency and with the support of Aldo Álvarez, we will hold the second Carnival Expo, where there will be workshops and training classes in percussion, samba no pé, makeup, and music. And the Concordia carnival groups will have their own stands where they will showcase their work, while a Food Court managed by the carnival groups will be set up, which will allow them to raise funds," he detailed.
"Those who want to know more about the Carnival Expo and register for the training classes can enter the official website of the Concordia Carnival at www.concordiacarnaval.com.ar", invited Cuberli.

"But also, that same weekend, a delegation from our festival will travel to Bolívar, where they will participate in the Dino Hugo Tinelli Marathon and a reciprocal collaboration agreement will be signed with the Municipality of Bolívar for tourism and cultural promotion, thanks to the decision of the Mayor, the Secretary of Sports Marcelo Cresto, and the organizing committee of the Reyes Marathon. Continuing to promote our festival at a national level and participating in such an important event with such significance is very important," he concluded.
