The Municipality of Concordia, through the Directorate of Bromatology, provides a series of recommendations to keep in mind after purchasing fruits and vegetables:
Proceed to wash them under a stream of running water, scrubbing with your hands to remove traces of soil and dirt.
Then disinfect them by submerging them in water with bleach (about 3 drops of bleach per liter of water) and leave them for about 10 minutes. Another option for disinfection is to submerge them for 10 minutes in water with vinegar (one glass of vinegar per liter of water).
After this time, rinse with plenty of potable water.
Once rinsed, place them on some paper towels to dry them, then store in the refrigerator.
It is important not to use gel, degreasing, or scented bleach. Only use bleach that states on its label that it is suitable for disinfecting food and water.
