Starting this Tuesday night at 8:30 PM at the Municipal Sports Directorate, San Juan 841, informative meetings will begin with the various entities or institutions in charge of nominating the athletes who will receive the San Antonio de Padua Award, which in its thirty-second edition, will take place on the upcoming Friday, December 20, at the Concordia Convention Center.
As previously reported, Mayor Enrique Cresto has indicated that a series of modifications will be implemented for the 2019 edition, which, among others, concerns the nomination system, which through work carried out by the municipality's IT Directorate, will now be performed digitally from the Municipality's website, www.concordia.gob.ar
It is therefore of utmost importance that the entities cited by the Organizing Committee, as well as those deemed to have particularities to be part of the nominations, attend to learn about the system to be applied, given that it is novel, and the meeting will also serve to clarify some aspects for carrying out the nominations.-
For tonight, institutions related to the designations for the disciplines of Automobilism, Karting, Motorcycling, Judo, Artistic Skating, Horse Racing, Aikido, Triathlon, and Duathlon have been summoned.-
The San Antonio de Padua Award was instituted by the Municipality in 1988, being the longest-running in the province and which led to the Province and various localities subsequently implementing similar awards.-
The institutions that will participate in the meetings are those in charge of the designations of the athletes who are recipients of the San Antonio de Padua Awards for Specialty and San Antonio de Padua for Merit in the Specialty, awards which, except for the exceptions provided for in Decree 24.457, must be granted to amateur athletes who are between 11 and 22 years old in the year of the award and who have completed at least three dates or events in the calendar year.-
In each sports discipline, there is a third category, an award nominated by Sports Journalism, which meets especially for that purpose –this year it will take place on Monday, December 9– and in their case, the athletes who can receive it can be professional or amateur, there is no age limit, although, as in the other two cases, they must meet the minimum number of dates or events throughout the calendar year, with it being planned that it will be awarded in all those disciplines that have the participation of athletes in the federated segment.-
For inquiries, interested parties may go in person to San Juan 841 on business days between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM, or communicate during the same hours by phone at 421 7083.-
After tonight's meeting, next Thursday the 7th, also starting at 8:30 PM at the Sports Directorate, institutions related to the disciplines of Swimming, Rugby, Hockey, Athletics, Shooting, Mountain Bike, Cycling, Equestrianism, Karate, Canoeing, Rowing, and Basketball are summoned.
All these particularities are those provided for by Ordinance 24.454 and Regulatory Decrees No. 24.457, 27.530, and 31.318.-
