Mayor Francisco Azcué visited the facilities of Smartnutrifoods this Friday, a company from Concordia dedicated to the development and manufacturing of microencapsulated oils for the food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and agro-industrial sectors, as part of its incorporation into the Municipal Registry of Knowledge Economy Companies (REC).
In this way, the firm gains access to the benefits regime provided by Ordinance No. 38,529, which includes the exemption of the Commercial municipal tax and the General Real Estate municipal tax for five years, renewable for an equal period, in addition to other incentives aimed at promoting the growth of innovative companies.
Mayor Azcué expressed his satisfaction with adding a new local company to the REC because, by being exempt from fiscal taxes, both municipal and provincial, “the possibilities for growth, development, and job creation are strengthened.”
“It is one more example of a company that bets on innovation, on technology, and that was born from a Concordia native trained at the University of Entre Ríos. As a State, it remains for us to accompany and generate the conditions so that they can continue investing, growing, and adding value to raw materials. We are very happy with what is being achieved,” highlighted Azcué.
The Director of Revenue, Fernando Marsicano, invited other knowledge economy firms to be part of the Registry. “It is a very simple procedure: register in the registry and begin to enjoy the exemption of the Commercial municipal tax and the General Real Estate municipal tax. From the Municipality, the idea is to promote these tools so that more companies from Concordia join and grow.”
For his part, the Director of Innovation and Knowledge Economy, Pedro Kohn, maintained that “this is part of a strategy that the city has to reach 30 knowledge economy companies. We are on the third one, and it is proven that there is plenty of talent in Concordia. It is a great milestone for us because it serves as an example for all the ventures that will come after.”
Finally, the managing partner of Smartnutrifoods, Lucas Benítez, thanked the municipality for the support, highlighting that “joining the municipal regime is a huge support for us because it allows us to direct those resources to continue growing and innovating. At the company, we develop products for the industry using microencapsulation technology, as well as solutions for laboratories and developments with specific medical purposes. Our first product is Keto Prep Coco, and we plan to continue incorporating new developments, always betting on innovation and local growth.”
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Smart Nutri Foods develops technological solutions based on research, formulation, and production processes of microencapsulated oils, aimed at improving the stability, preservation, and controlled release of active ingredients.
In addition, it works in coordination with universities, laboratories, and research centers for the development of applied innovation projects and maintains links with other companies to promote technology transfer and productive scaling. Among its developments is Keto Prep Coco, a powdered coconut oil made through microencapsulation technology.
With this new incorporation, Concordia continues to consolidate itself as a hub of innovation, accompanying local companies in their growth and promoting the generation of qualified employment.
