Within the framework of the Provincial Anniversary of Occupational Health and Safety, Concordia hosted a technical seminar aimed at professionals, students, companies, and public and private organizations, with the purpose of promoting the updating of knowledge, the exchange of experiences, and the dissemination of good practices regarding the prevention of occupational risks.
The activity, organized by the Association of Graduates and Technicians in Occupational Health, Safety and Hygiene of Entre Ríos, featured the participation of prominent specialists, who addressed current topics related to health and safety at work, fostering the strengthening of a true preventive culture.
During the opening, mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the importance of addressing hygiene and safety from a professional and scientific perspective, since “this is not an intuitive matter that someone thought of and opined that one should wear gloves or paint a yellow line. There is training, professionalization, and fundamentally, the care of workers and the common interest of all our residents,” congratulating the organizers and students who attended the seminar, as these are spaces where “knowledge and experience are acquired.”
For his part, the president of the Association of Graduates and Technicians in Occupational Health, Safety and Hygiene of Entre Ríos, Darío Botto, stressed that “we, as hygiene and safety professionals, have been working constantly on risk prevention because our profession has the central objective of protecting people's lives.”
The Director of Labor of Entre Ríos, Juan Pablo Irurueta, maintained: “Behind every protocol there is a worker; behind every training session there is a family. Therefore, behind every preventive measure there is a tragedy that is avoided, there is an accident that is being prevented. So, when we talk about occupational safety, we are talking about protecting life.”
Finally, the representative of the Mixed Technical Commission of Salto Grande, Martin Micuc, highlighted the importance of training new professionals by stating that “the purpose of hygiene and safety is to take care of people's health. It is valuable that students can approach this profession and these training instances.”
