With the objective of continuing to work jointly on programs and public policies related to childhood and adolescence, a meeting was held between the technical teams and officials of the Municipality of Concordia, the Ministry of Human Development of the Province, and the United Municipalities for Childhood and Adolescence (MUNA), belonging to UNICEF Argentina.
The objective of MUNA is to contribute to improving the quality of life of children and adolescents in their communities. Through this initiative, UNICEF provides technical support to municipalities in the design, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive, participatory action plans with a rights-based perspective.
In this regard, mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted this joint action as a way to “continue strengthening the teams with UNICEF, with the Ministry of Human Development of the Province, and the different areas of the Municipality. This allows us to be more efficient when it comes to managing resources and the development of the public policies to which those resources are allocated.”
“It is a priority for us to work on childhood, to be present alongside our families so that they can grow and develop a life project in our city, in a Concordia with opportunities, and although there is much left to do, we are reaching objectives,” remarked Azcué.
The Minister of Human Development of Entre Ríos, Verónica Berisso, pointed out that “UNICEF is accompanying us in all strategic lines of childhood and adolescence. Childhood is a priority and it is where we all must aim because the future is there.”
For her part, Teresita Vargas, from the Coordination of United Municipalities for Childhood and Adolescence, maintained that “for us, joint work is very important because we achieve very interesting progress regarding the coordination between areas. In Concordia, three thematic lines are being worked on: early childhood; healthy environments and disability.”
“There are policies that are being developed, policies that are being implemented, and actions that today are a reality and that at the time were thought of at a table like this one, and that today we can say are fulfilled goals,” concluded Vargas.
