This Friday, and within the framework of the visits promoted by the Aerocommercial Development Entity of the Concordia Airport (EDAAC), members of various media outlets toured the facilities of the “Comodoro JJ. Pierrestegui” air terminal, an opportunity in which they were able to learn about different aspects of the airport's operation and the role it plays in our city and the region.
They were received by the president of the Aerocommercial Development Entity of the Concordia Airport, Federico Schattenhofer, together with staff from the EDAAC, the Undersecretariat of Tourism, and the Undersecretariat of Communication and Press of the Municipality of Concordia.
“We are confirming that this airport was something extremely necessary for the region, and today we wanted to share with the media all the developments that have emerged since the official authorization that took place on September 15,” Schattenhofer pointed out.
In that regard, he maintained that the air terminal was designed to provide a service “to different activities, ranging from productive, tourist, health, recreational, or commercial. We started with private flights, there were medical flights, and this week commercial ones have already begun, and that is very important for the entire community. We believe that this airport will mark a milestone in the history of Concordia,” he remarked.
Finally, Schattenhofer stated that just as a gastronomic service will soon begin to operate, which is in the bidding process, “we hope to be able to have more commercial flights of different kinds. This is a process that takes time, that requires joint work between all sectors. Today it is fulfilling a function that for a long time the region did not have.”
“CONCORDIA NEEDED IT”
Marcelo González, a photojournalist for the newspaper El Heraldo, after finishing the visit, considered that “it is something that Concordia needed, a renovation, because the old airport had already completed its cycle. Nowadays, modernism drives us forward, and I believe this will be a great step for Concordia to have more connectivity. It is an initial kick-off.”
Gustavo Cardozo, from Radio Zona TV 99.7, pointed out that “the experience of touring the airport is a satisfaction because it allows us to see that the services are top-notch. There is a good horizon for what is projected for the service that the airport will provide. It is already becoming part of the entire community, and we hope that this will also benefit the entire region.”
Finally, Guillermo Acosta, from the newspaper El Entre Ríos, stated: “we take with us a lot of information, but also the certainty that it is a place that is incipiently starting and that will surely grow as time goes by. It will depend a little on all of us who are part of the community, as well as those who provide services and those who are willing to visit us finally.”
