The Municipality of Concordia carried out a new session of the Integrated Agroecological Gardens Program for the Community, with activities held at School No. 2 “José Artigas” and the La Bianca neighborhood Health Center, where students, teachers, health professionals, and residents of the community participated.
This was the second meeting of the training cycle promoted by the Secretariat of Productive Development, which had a strong educational focus, addressing content related to autumn-winter gardens, healthy eating, and environmental care.
Secretary of Productive Development, Sebastián Arístide, highlighted that “when we work together with schools, health centers, and families, we ensure that gardens become spaces for learning, meeting, and growth for the entire community.”
Likewise, he remarked that the program seeks to “provide technical and training tools that allow people to acquire skills, generate job opportunities, and even promote their own ventures linked to agroecological production.”
During the session, knowledge was shared regarding seasonal crops, agroecological production practices, and the importance of incorporating healthy habits from an early age, fostering the active participation of the entire community.
From the Secretariat of Productive Development, they remarked that these actions continue to be carried out in different neighborhoods of the city, bringing training and technical support to families interested in producing their own food and strengthening community-based productive projects.
The next meeting will be held in the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood, where residents will be able to participate in a new day of training and exchange of experiences related to family gardens.
The Integrated Agroecological Gardens Program for the Community is developed within the framework of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, promoting actions that strengthen community participation, social development, and the growth of the different neighborhoods of Concordia.
