More than 250 children from our city received a certificate after successfully completing the workshops of the Concordia Robotics Club in the first stage of 2026.
The event, organized by the Municipality's Directorate of Innovation and Knowledge Economy, was attended by 400 people. Young people between 8 and 15 years of age took part in the workshops during the first half of the year, many of them taking their first steps into the world of robotics and programming.
Director of Innovation Pedro Kohn stated: “this space responds to the work that the municipal administration has been carrying out to transform the city, making it more innovative, modern, and with long-term opportunities. In this sense, the Robotics Club is part of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial that the Municipality proposes to build together with the communities, with proposals that have a positive and productive impact on society”.
Head of the Robotics Department Andrea Solari pointed out that “this is the fourth edition of this initiative. This year, we expect to have approximately 600 children graduating by December. Today, the numbers indicate that we must continue to commit to providing these opportunities to more and more neighborhoods in the city. In this first stage, there are more than 80 schools that have at least one student from our Club; that data is invaluable and we cannot lose it”.
The organizing team explained how this innovative proposal works, highlighting that “children learn progressively throughout the development of the workshop, meaning they move up in category as they incorporate new knowledge”. Each class is planned strategically and responsibly, attending to the needs of the students themselves since, as they state, “year after year the demand in teaching is greater because children learn faster and faster and families want their children to have practical and useful tools”.
Finally, the importance of having the support of families was highlighted, as they understand that this education is a necessity for the development of their children, “today technology is everywhere, but knowing how to use it in a useful, responsible, and ethical way is the most difficult part, and in this sense, having a team of specialized trainers who guide the students in each training project is very important”.
