The Pequeños Duendes Carnival paraded on Sunday in the South Zone. It took place on the recovered Chacabuco Avenue, which now, in addition to the renovated asphalt, features LED lights that provide better illumination, are environmentally friendly, and generate energy savings. The wife of Mayor Enrique Cresto, Leticia Ponzinibio, and Father Daniel Petelin, together with the general coordinator of the Pequeños Duendes, Sonia Albornos, accompanied the popular children's carnival parade.
More than 300 children put on a talented performance that managed to capture the attention of the entire neighborhood. Smiles, joy, and plenty of show entertained all the residents. The shower of snow spray took place many times on this Sunday night, where one could glimpse the enjoyment of the families and residents who came to enjoy this spectacle that joins the attractions of our city every summer.
Esther prepared early with her chair and mate at the corner of Chacabuco and Sarmiento to wait for the passing of the little carnival performers. "I love the carnival," said the grandmother. And as the first troupe came to the rhythm of samba, she commented, "Did you see how nice my neighborhood turned out? This party is to celebrate how it is turning out," she added, laughing.
The happiness of the residents due to the works being carried out through the Habitat Program, which is transforming the south zone into what represents "a historical reparation," as expressed at the time by Mayor Cresto, was added to the non-stop joy and magic of the only popular children's carnival in the country.
Vice Mayor Armando Gay and his wife Bárbara Rajzner, Secretary of Treasury Mónica Lifschitz, council members Julia Saenz and Sebastián Cuberli, the president of the Carnival Entity Matias Soto, along with neighborhood leaders from the south zone, were present at this parade. FM Lourdes and FM Mantrha were present accompanying the parade, broadcasting the party live.
The following Pequeños Duendes parades will take place on Friday, February 2nd in La Banca, and on Sunday the 4th in the Cipo neighborhood, in both locations starting at 8:00 PM.
