The Municipality of Concordia, through the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, continues with the storm drainage works on 6 de Caballería street, between Rocamora and Monseñor D´Andrea streets.
In this sector, which includes the Parque Río Uruguay and El Arenal neighborhoods, storm drainage piping and curb and gutter works are being carried out, aimed at improving drainage, organizing neighborhood infrastructure, and providing a better quality of life for residents, particularly regarding accessibility when heavy rainfall occurs.
Mayor Francisco Azcué and the Secretary of Public Works Fernando Esquibel were touring the site, where they stated that it is “a major engineering work being carried out because storm drains linked to the El Duraznal stream converge here, coming from 30 blocks, therefore this intervention is fundamental to reduce the impact this causes.”
Another of the works that is about to be executed is the construction of a culvert in that location, which will allow for the capture of water flow and facilitate water runoff during days of unfavorable weather conditions.
“Once the curb and gutter works, the storm drains, and the culvert are finished, this sector will change considerably, bringing peace of mind to the residents and substantially improving the accessibility of the area which, due to its location, is severely affected every time we have significant rainfall in Concordia,” affirmed Azcué.
