The Municipality of Concordia and the General Directorate of the Penitentiary Service of Entre Ríos signed a series of collaboration and mutual assistance agreements with the objective of strengthening social reintegration policies through work, training, and the creation of opportunities.
The participation of selected inmates with judicial authorization is foreseen, under the supervision of the Penitentiary Service, while the Municipality will be in charge of organizing the tasks, providing tools, and providing insurance coverage. Likewise, a monthly gratuity for the Penal Unit for the activities carried out is contemplated.
In this regard, the mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the possibility of advancing in these joint actions that represent the strengthening of the institutional work carried out by the administration. “These agreements bring a benefit to all parties, whether for the inmates who are trained and can work, but also for the community in general, since the benefit is for the city,” he stated.
The General Director of the Penitentiary Service of Entre Ríos, Inspector General Aníbal Alejandro Miotti, stressed: “This is very important for us because it highlights penitentiary work primarily based on what is reintegration. All this effort and joint work is aimed at that objective so that in this way the inmates contribute positively to society.”
