In a joint effort between the Municipality of Concordia and BBVA, the financial inclusion workshop “Learn to take care of your money” was carried out, aimed at older adults with the objective of providing practical tools for the safe use of the financial system.
The proposal was promoted by the Directorate of Citizen Attention and Consumer Defense, together with the Department of Older Adults, within the framework of public policies aimed at reducing the digital divide and strengthening the autonomy of this sector.
During the session, participants incorporated knowledge about the use of bank accounts, electronic payment methods, virtual wallets, and fraud prevention, in an accessible space with close support.
At the opening, the Secretary of Treasury and Cabinet Coordination, Pablo Ferreyra, highlighted: “From the State, we have the responsibility to provide digital and financial tools in an accessible way, especially to our older adults, so that they can operate with greater security.”
For his part, the manager of the Concordia branch of BBVA, Maximiliano Rodríguez, pointed out: “Financial inclusion also implies accompanying people so that they use services with confidence. These spaces generate a real impact on daily life.”
Meanwhile, the Director of Citizen Attention and Consumer Defense, Guido Di Gioia, remarked: “It is not just about access, but about knowing how to use the tools safely, preventing fraud, and strengthening autonomy.”
At the same time, the head of the Department of Policies for the Elderly, Gladys Portugal, expressed: “These workshops are fundamental because they provide concrete tools to our older adults and, at the same time, generate confidence to operate in an increasingly digital world. Furthermore, the knowledge they acquire multiplies in their families and in the community.”
The Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to continue promoting these training instances, understanding that financial inclusion is key to improving the quality of life of the residents.
Finally, it was recalled that the Directorate of Consumer Defense operates at Av. San Lorenzo “O” No. 101, where advice and support are provided in the filing of complaints.
