The Municipality of Concordia, through the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, is carrying out works in the Las Tejas neighborhood, related to curbs and gutters, soil treatment and stability, street profiling and crowning, to favor the rapid drainage of water during days of intense rainfall.
The works, supervised by the Secretariat of Public Works through the Undersecretariat of Road Works Maintenance, are being executed on San Antonio de Padua street between Mexico and Blas Parera.
In this regard, the mayor Francisco Azcué pointed out that “the work being carried out on these unpaved streets covers several issues because it is not only curbs and gutters but also preparing and consolidating the soil, profiling the streets with a crowning that favors the rapid drainage of water when we have days with rainfall”.
“The objective is to carry out comprehensive interventions with technical criteria that allow guaranteeing greater durability of the works, respecting the protocols. We listen to the residents and we are providing answers to those demands”, highlighted Azcué.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works Fernando Esquibel indicated that these interventions “come to solve water problems that existed with rainwater and catchment chambers. Work is being done on the recomposition of the curbs that were poorly made and undermined to guarantee optimal functioning”.
Once the curbs and gutters are completed, “a soil recomposition is carried out, worked with a stone base that favors the passage of water when it rains and also prevents the street from breaking and complicating transitability”, explained the Undersecretary of Road Works Maintenance Bruno Gaztambide.
