Most of them were in a complete state of abandonment and vandalized. They are used for carrying out different municipal activities. “These are spaces that residents value highly,” stated the Neighborhood Development area.
The Municipality of Concordia, through the Neighborhood Development Directorate, under the Undersecretariat of Social Development, has recovered 8 community halls so far during this administration that were in a complete state of abandonment and, in many cases, vandalized.
Based on joint work between different areas, refurbishment tasks were carried out that allow for the holding of different cultural, sports, recreational, or educational workshops, among others.
Currently, there are 27 community halls in operation, distributed throughout different neighborhoods of the city.
THE ROLE OF THE RESIDENTS
This week, the hall located in the Salto Chico neighborhood, in the northern area of Concordia, was recovered. In this particular case, the role of the residents was fundamental: once it was closed, quite some time ago, they took charge of caring for the place so that it would not suffer the same consequences as in other locations.
“This particular hall was not vandalized because it was under the care of the residents themselves. They value these spaces highly and are encouraged when they see them being cleaned, restored, and put into good condition,” pointed out the Neighborhood Development area, adding that “from now on, we will be bringing different activities for the residents of this place, La Bianca, and surrounding areas.”
