The Municipality of Concordia, in conjunction with Banco BBVA and through the Directorate of Citizen Attention and Consumer Defense and the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, carried out the workshop “Learn to take care of your money”, an initiative aimed at strengthening the financial inclusion of senior citizens with the objective of providing them with key tools for the secure management of their income on virtual platforms.
The activity took place at the Concordia Convention Center where participants accessed various resources that they will be able to implement in their daily lives, with a presentation by Master in Finance Maximiliano Rodríguez, manager of the Banco BBVA Concordia branch.
The Secretary of Treasury and Cabinet Coordination Pablo Ferreyra highlighted that “for us, it is very important to support senior citizens, facilitating and creating training spaces regarding banking tools, fraud prevention, and the responsible use of services, which is something so necessary”.
Ferreyra highlighted the importance of working in coordination with the private sector and different areas of the Municipality: “On this occasion, we are doing it with Banco Francés, who provide professionals with training that ends up being useful for everyone”.
For his part, Rodríguez maintained that “during this session, we addressed technological knowledge and different tools that are useful for home use. The idea focused on the participants taking away knowledge and financial education so that they can replicate it with third parties, whether friends, acquaintances, or family members”.
The activity was attended by the Undersecretary of Development and Entrepreneurship Gabriel Enguelberg; the Director of Cooperativism and Associativism Ariel Gorostegui; the Director of Citizen Attention and Consumer Defense Guido Di Gioia; and the Head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Portugal.
