In the framework of the Technological University Federation (FUT) Congress held this weekend at the UTN Concordia campus, Néstor García and Andrea Lescano, parents of the young Micaela García, gave a presentation and introduced the Foundation that bears their daughter's name.
Mayor Enrique Cresto accompanied Néstor and Andrea during the presentation and noted that "Micaela must be an example for so many young people, that example of dedication to those most in need, that example of commitment to a better, more solidary, and fairer world."
For his part, Néstor García commented that they spoke with the mayor about various topics related to institutional matters, as he is the Dean of the UTN in Concepción del Uruguay, as well as about this initiative they are working on following the unfortunate situation they had to go through as a family.
“We want to fulfill Micaela's dreams, and I believe that based on what happened, a shift occurred in the minds of young people fundamentally; with greater commitment and with the idea that there is a way of engaging in activism like the one Micaela did, which aimed to change reality,” said Néstor García.
