The Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS) called for a contest in which schools from the city participated to choose the entity's new logo. The initiative arose from a proposal by Mayor Enrique Cresto with the objective of achieving a new visual identity. A project presented by sixth-grade students from the Almafuerte school was selected.
"The contest was held in conjunction with the Local Articulation Department of the Guaraní Aquifer, the Municipal Secretariat of Public Works, and the Departmental Directorate of Schools, which facilitated our reaching the schools with the proposal," said EDOS Technical Interventor Mireya López Bernis regarding the matter. "There was a need to update and modernize the EDOS logo, and Mayor Cresto's decision was that it should emerge from a contest in which children and young people could participate through schools, and that is how it was done," the official commented.
"The contest was presented last March 22nd, on World Water Day, and students from primary, secondary, and tertiary schools participated. Many projects were received, and the jury told us that making the selection was not an easy task, so we congratulate everyone who participated," expressed López Bernis.
The jury was composed of graphic designer and videographer Julián Rebot, teacher and visual artist Yamile Sorokin, and EDOS Technical Manager Vanesa Leonardelli. The winners were the 6th-grade students from the Almafuerte school, coordinated by teacher Florencia Mahler, who were awarded a prize consisting of a stay for the entire group at the Termas de Ayuí and a didactic kit from the Guaraní Aquifer Project for the educational institution's library.
