Mayor Francisco Azcué participated in the talk “Sport and Addiction Prevention”, which was held at the Municipal Gymnasium, organized by the Undersecretariat of Sports and attended by sports journalist Federico Muller.
The talk, which was aimed at representatives of local clubs, adults, young people and adolescents, focused on various thematic axes such as the “Impact of addictions on our lives”, “How to prevent addictions” and “Sport as a fundamental pillar for physical, mental and emotional health”.
Addressing those present, Mayor Azcué stated that “our administration has three pillars, one of them is Human Development and in that, sport is a wonderful tool for transformation, transmitting values and training people”, which is why work is being carried out with different institutions “where the protagonists are the residents, integrating in this case clubs, being committed citizens who decide to dedicate their time no longer for their own benefit but for the common good”.
Azcué highlighted: “we need to put the issue on the table, problematic consumption, addictions and a lot of scourges, which are hitting us today and we have to recognize it. These are issues that are there, that hit us and one of the tools we have is to work from awareness and with professionals”.
For her part, the Undersecretary of Sports, Ivana Pérez, thanked the clubs for their interest and the support of the professionals related to the problem, announcing that they will soon continue with this type of activity addressing other topics that are of interest for the training, preparation and support of children, young people and adults, through sport.
