The vice president of Enersa and Minister of Government and Labor, Manuel Troncoso, together with the mayor Francisco Azcué, led the presentation of the engineering plan and the signing of the agreement between Enersa and the Cooperativa Eléctrica de Concordia to advance the South Transformer Station. This is a key project to organize the city's energy growth, boost industrial development, and improve service quality.
Having the executive project will allow for the management of financing from national and international organizations, a fundamental step to realize the investment.
“This project organizes the energy growth of Concordia and creates real conditions for the expansion of the Industrial Park. It is a strategic decision that enables investments, production, and employment,” stated Troncoso. In this sense, he stressed that the initiative is part of a State policy promoted by Governor Rogelio Frigerio, aimed at strengthening infrastructure as the basis for development.
“Energy is synonymous with growth. Where there is energy, there is investment, industry, and work. But that does not happen on its own: it requires planning and concrete decisions, and that is what we are doing,” the minister maintained, adding: “Our priority is to lay solid foundations for the development of Entre Ríos. Investing in energy infrastructure is guaranteeing the future, predictability, and opportunities so that the private sector can invest and generate employment.”
For his part, the mayor Azcué, highlighted the importance of the work for local growth: “A city that does not have energy capacity does not have a future. This work creates concrete conditions for investment, development, and growth. It is part of a process that requires order, responsibility, and a policy sustained over time.”
In addition, he mentioned that this project complements other strategic initiatives such as the Barge Port and the logistics activities zone, consolidating a productive profile for the city.
Representing the Cooperativa Eléctrica, its president, Marcelo Spinelli, valued the political decision to move forward with a long-postponed project: “This is a project we have been working on for years. There is no development without energy, and today the right decision is being made to continue strengthening the system.”
In turn, the Cooperativa's Director of Operations, Gustavo Flaquer, explained the technical impact of the initiative: “In a first stage, it will allow for a 30 percent increase in the system's supply capacity, with the possibility of scaling up to 50 or 60 percent. This will improve the quality of service and make the Industrial Park more attractive for the establishment of new companies.”
The authorities agreed that the South Transformer Station constitutes a fundamental step to accompany the urban and industrial growth of Concordia, consolidating a development strategy based on planning, infrastructure, and coordination between the provincial State, the municipality, and local institutions.
The presentation was also attended by legislators Gloria Cozzi, Carola Laner, and Marcelo López, along with the manager of Strategic Affairs of Enersa, Eduardo Asueta, and Martín Dri, member of the board of directors of Cafesg.
