This Thursday, a new working group meeting was held, led by Mayor Francisco Azcué, between officials of the Municipality of Concordia, executives from the Egger company, and residents of the neighborhoods surrounding the plant.
During the meeting, the company provided information on the results of air toxicity studies, the adjustments and operational improvements implemented during the month of February, and the investment plan scheduled for the coming months, with the objective of continuing to improve the plant's environmental performance.
At the meeting, the company presented updates on air quality measurements conducted during the last month by certified external laboratories. In all cases, the results obtained were favorable and confirm what was stated in the previous meeting: the wood fiber particles detected in areas surrounding the plant are not toxic, do not cause harm to health, and do not affect air quality.
The monitoring plan will continue to be carried out on a monthly basis over the coming months.
Likewise, the company reported on the adjustments and operational improvements implemented during the month of February, which allowed for the optimization of the particle collection system's operation and a reduction of more than 30% in the particulate matter that could disperse outside the system.
As next steps, Egger shared the investment plan scheduled for the coming months, which includes the incorporation of an additional filter to strengthen the efficiency of the wood particle collection system. This technological improvement will allow for the continued optimization of the plant's environmental performance.
The information presented will be attached to Administrative case file No. 1361773, which is available to all those who require information on the various actions that have been carried out from the month of December 2025 to date.
During the meeting, the residents present asked questions about the information presented, and it was agreed to keep the dialogue open, in addition to holding a new follow-up meeting in the month of April.
