The Municipality of Concordia, through the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, will hold an Alternative Games Meeting for older adults, with the aim of promoting physical activity, recreation, and the strengthening of social bonds.
The proposal will take place next Wednesday, April 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Sports Field of the Costanera de Concordia, and will be coordinated by professor Miguel Pérez Saipe. The day will include recreational activities, group dynamics, and adapted exercises, designed to encourage movement, camaraderie, and the integral well-being of the participants.
From the organization, they highlighted that these types of meetings seek to create inclusive spaces where older adults can remain active, share experiences, and strengthen their physical and emotional health in an outdoor environment.
The Head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Portugal, pointed out that “these spaces are fundamental because they promote active and healthy aging. It is not just about doing physical activity, but about meeting, socializing, and continuing to build community among our older adults.”
Likewise, she highlighted that the initiative is part of a permanent agenda of activities promoted by the municipality: “From the department, we work to offer proposals that accompany older people, generating opportunities for participation, recreation, and well-being throughout the year.”
The meeting is open to older adults in the city who wish to participate in a different morning, combining games, movement, and recreation in an emblematic natural space in Concordia.
With these actions, the municipality continues to strengthen public policies aimed at inclusion, active participation, and the improvement of the quality of life of older people.
