The Carnival Entity is finalizing details for what will be a new edition of the Carnival Expo and Symposium, which this year will be held at the Port Warehouses in a joint effort with the Costanera Entity.
The Carnival Expo is an initiative that seeks to highlight all the work and great effort that the comparsas carry out, anticipating what will be the greatest summer festival starting in January, while offering workshops and clinics with prominent Carnival specialists for the improvement of local artists, within the framework of the policies for the promotion and development of local culture promoted by the administration of mayor Enrique Cresto.
On Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th, the Port Warehouses of the Costanera will be invaded by the show and passion of the Concordia carnival. The queens of the region's carnivals were invited to the event, so a large turnout is expected to grace the days. During the two days, the Comparsas of Concordia were invited to exhibit their history and magic in stands and anticipate some of the spectacle they will display on the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" Corsódromo track in 2019.
On the night of Saturday, November 3rd, a Samba Roda will take place starting at 10 PM, which will captivate and make everyone vibrate. But without a doubt, the workshops and clinics are the proposals that captivate the most.
On Saturday the 3rd at 2 PM, Karina Giménez will provide a Carnival Makeup Workshop with current techniques.
The same day at 5 PM, Luana Bandeira will provide a Samba No Pe Workshop. Luana, specially invited to the Carnival Expo, was Bateria Queen for six seasons of "Estácio de Sá", the escola directly descended from "Deixa Falar", the first escola do samba in Rio de Janeiro
While on Sunday the 4th, Emilce Parga will provide a Seminar on Staging and Body Awareness for Carnival Parades. Emilce is a renowned dance teacher and figure of the Gualeguaychú Carnival, current choreographer of the “Marí Marí” comparsa.
Then, at 3 PM, Junior Sampaio will provide a special Workshop that no carnival musician from Concordia will want to miss. Sampaio was recently named Mestre of the Renascer de Jacarepaguá escola (Bateria that in the 2018 Rio Carnival for Series A won 40 points!); he is also Director of the Pura Cadencia bateria; and percussion professor at Batuque Digital, one of the most prestigious concert groups in Brazil, made up of many of the Bateria Directors of Rio de Janeiro.
These are some of the proposals that will bring the 2018 Carnival Expo to life. Registration for the workshops and seminars must be done through the website www.concordiacarnaval.com.ar, starting this week.
