The Traffic and Transport Directorate of the Municipality of Concordia informs that, as of this Thursday, it will no longer be a requirement to have paid traffic fines issued in other jurisdictions in order to renew a driver's license.
The measure is the result of the efforts made by Mayor Francisco Azcué before the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), regarding the National Traffic Record Certificate (CENAT).
“As of today, having traffic violations in other jurisdictions no longer represents an impediment to proceed with the procedure,” explained Emanuel Galli, Director of Traffic and Transport. However, he clarified that it remains mandatory to pay the cost of the CENAT.
“This decision was possible thanks to the efforts promoted by the municipal executive branch before the ANSV. It is important for the community to know that this measure does not eliminate the violation committed in another jurisdiction, which remains in effect. However, it no longer prevents completing the procedure. Previously, if the total amount of the fine was not paid, the system blocked the possibility of proceeding with the license renewal,” detailed Galli.
