The Undersecretariat of Development and Entrepreneurship of the Municipality of Concordia continues to strengthen the Family Agroecological Gardens Program, an initiative that promotes the production of healthy food, environmental care, and community development in different neighborhoods of the city.
During the sessions held this week, residents actively participated in the meetings promoted by the Directorate of Cooperativism and Associativism and the Department of Social Economy, consolidating spaces for learning, production, and collective work.
The activities were carried out in the Sarmiento, 11 de Junio, CTM – La Bianca, and San Pantaleón neighborhoods, reaching a significant number of families who joined the agroecological proposal. In Barrio Sarmiento, 12 families participated, while in Barrio 11 de Junio, 30 families were supported. For its part, in the CTM – La Bianca neighborhood, work was carried out with 28 families, and in San Pantaleón, 40 families participated, reflecting the sustained growth of the program in different sectors of the city.
The head of the Department of Social Economy, Miguel Parra, highlighted the importance of continuing to bring these types of public policies to the neighborhoods: “Every family that joins a garden is incorporating tools to improve their nutrition and generate autonomy. These spaces also strengthen community ties and promote a more solidary social economy.”
Furthermore, he remarked: “Seeing the participation of the residents in each session demonstrates that there is interest and commitment to agroecological production. We continue to grow together, neighborhood by neighborhood, accompanying those who want to produce their own food.”
For his part, Ariel Gorostegui, from the Directorate of Cooperativism and Associativism, expressed: “Giving continuity to this program means continuing to bet on the growth of families and the strengthening of the social fabric in the neighborhoods. Gardens not only generate food, they also generate community.”
Likewise, he added: “We are accompanying the residents with training and concrete tools, promoting sustainable practices and a more solidary economy, where collective work is fundamental.”
MONDAY, MAY 11
The program will continue next Monday, May 11, with new sessions in different parts of the city. At 09:00 hours, the activities will take place in Barrio Pampa Soler, at the Palacios family home, while at 10:30 hours the meeting will take place in Tavella Norte, at the Municipal Community Hall.
The municipality invites the entire community to continue participating in these proposals, which continue to sow the future, work, and environmental awareness in Concordia.
