With the objective of outlining the joint work agenda for the coming months, an organizational meeting was held between the Department of Senior Citizen Policies of the Municipality of Concordia and the Extension team of the Faculty of Food Sciences, dependent on the National University of Entre Ríos.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Portugal, and the Secretary of Extension of the Faculty, Eng. Romina Bacigalupo. During the meeting, lines of action were redefined to be carried out in coordination with the Directorate of Cooperativism and Associativism, strengthening the institutional approach aimed at older adults.
In this context, Gladys Portugal highlighted the importance of joint work between the municipality and the university: “For us, it is essential to maintain these planning spaces, because they allow us to think of concrete proposals that promote the active participation of older adults. When we coordinate with the university, we expand opportunities and enrich each project with an academic and community perspective.”
Likewise, she announced that in the coming days the new cycle of workshops to be developed jointly will be made known: “Shortly we will be informing about the cycle of workshops that we are going to launch. We are very happy to continue working with this institution, because each shared experience leaves us with very positive results for our community.”
Portugal also recalled that one of the most outstanding programs of last year was “Sabores de la Vida”, a proposal that brought together numerous residents and had a great impact: “Last year ‘Sabores de la Vida’ was a true success. We managed to make older adults the protagonists, sharing recipes, stories, and knowledge. That is the path we want to continue deepening,” she stated.
Both institutions agreed that joint work will allow for the consolidation of public policies sustained over time, generating new instances of meeting, training, and community development in Concordia.
