Following an incident that became public in recent hours, the Municipality expresses its firm support for merchants and the entire private sector, who invest, create jobs, and sustain the city's economic activity.
Regarding what occurred, and according to the information gathered so far, the operation was carried out following the detection of alleged irregularities linked to the lack of authorization for a deck-type area and the sale of alcoholic beverages outside permitted hours. However, a review of the actions taken by the intervening inspectors has been ordered to ensure that every procedure strictly adheres to current regulations and criteria of reasonableness.
Since the beginning of the administration, the Municipality has promoted a concrete agenda of support for commerce and the private sector, based on measures of deregulation, administrative simplification, and tax relief, with the goal of facilitating economic activity and promoting local investment.
In line with this, the main measures implemented are detailed below:
- Elimination of more than 300 municipal taxes, rights, and fees, focusing on the simplification of procedures and the reduction of costs for the private sector.
- Elimination of administrative stamps (initiation of administrative case files, payment plans, certificate of no outstanding debt, updating of information in Commercial Municipal tax, among others),
- Elimination of the 2.7% tax rate for local food and beverage businesses, food industries, and activities related to construction.
- Reduction of the Municipal Contribution for Public Lighting and establishment of lower caps than those previously in force.
- Online Single Window for express authorization of low-risk businesses in 24 hours.
- New regime for Small Commercial Municipal tax Contributors, expanding access to more than 1,000 category A monotributistas and paying a reduced fixed amount.
Likewise, it is reported that during the current year, progress will be made with new projects aimed at continuing to strengthen the sector, generating better conditions for those who bet on the city's development, such as advancing in the digitalization of authorizations, cancellations, transfers, and changes of ownership through the Online Window. Furthermore, work is underway on the implementation of the digital record. All these are tools that reduce time, costs, and bureaucracy for the taxpayer.
The Municipality reaffirms its commitment to order, compliance with regulations, and, at the same time, to the permanent support of those who produce, invest, and generate work in Concordia.
For this reason, it has been determined to initiate an internal summary investigation to determine responsibilities. While this action is being carried out, with the objective of establishing certainty between what the merchant reports and the conduct of the inspectors, for security reasons and until the facts are clarified, they have been provisionally separated from their duties.
