In line with the principles of a responsible, transparent administration committed to the well-being of its staff, the Municipal Executive reported that a new regulation governing withholdings on municipal personnel salaries will be implemented in the coming weeks.
The measure, promoted by Mayor Francisco Azcué, responds to the need to protect the purchasing power of municipal employees, ensuring that no deduction affects the subsistence of working families.
The new scheme, which will come into effect in August, establishes an order of priority for the withholdings to be applied, prioritizing mandatory contributions (retirement, health insurance, union) and alimony payments. Furthermore, it sets legal caps on judicial attachments and voluntary withholdings.
The Municipality will notify each agent regarding the deductions applied and deferred, ensuring a policy of respect for current legislation.
In parallel, work is underway on a Financial Education Training proposal, aimed at providing workers with useful tools to improve the management of their income and make more informed economic decisions.
The Executive's decision is based on the need to organize and provide transparency to the salary withholding system, correcting practices that in some cases affect the workers' disposable income. Faced with a complex economic reality, it is a priority to ensure that no deduction violates the right to subsistence or the stability of family income.
This regulation will allow for the application of fair and uniform criteria, in line with what is established by current legislation, promoting responsible management that protects labor rights and ensures equitable conditions for all municipal personnel.
