The Municipality of Concordia informs that, since the first complaint received on Friday, December 26, it has been permanently monitoring the situation generated by technical problems at the EGGER company plant, located in the Industrial Park, and maintaining direct contact with both the firm and residents of the affected neighborhoods, particularly Villa Adela.
Since that same day, municipal authorities communicated with company executives to learn about what happened, toured the reported area, and carried out verifications in the territory upon each notice received from residents. Likewise, immediate measures were coordinated with the company to mitigate the problem, including operational adjustments and preventive controls.
Throughout the following days, technical personnel from the Municipality, belonging to the Environmental Sanitation Directorate, carried out periodic inspections at the plant and tours in the neighborhoods, receiving formal complaints, audiovisual records provided by residents, and technical documentation presented by the company regarding the causes of the issue and the corrective actions implemented.
However, given new episodes recorded during the weekend, which were verified by municipal inspectors on-site, the Municipality decided to reinforce control measures, advancing in the corresponding administrative case files to demand the company provide an immediate solution to the problem.
In this context, Mayor Francisco Azcué will receive a group of residents from Villa Adela next Tuesday, with the objective of hearing their claims firsthand, providing information on the actions taken, and continuing the close monitoring of the situation.
The Municipality reaffirms its commitment to being present, acting with responsibility, and prioritizing the well-being of the residents, keeping dialogue channels open and exercising the corresponding control competencies.
