The Municipality of Concordia and the Foundation for Forest Industrial Development of Entre Ríos (FUNDEFI), through the Forest Industrial Development Center (CEDEFI), signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening training, technical assistance, and the development of new projects linked to the wood and construction industry.
The signing took place at the Concordia Convention Center and was attended by the Secretary of Productive Development, Sebastián Arístide, representing the Municipality; for FUNDEFI and CEDEFI, its president, María Elisa De las Heras, was present, who also represents the Argentine Forestry Association (AFOA) within the institution. Representatives from the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), business owners, professionals, and leaders of the regional productive sector also participated.
Based on this agreement, the Municipality is making the facilities of the former Fertimaq plant, located in the Las Tejas neighborhood, available for the development of training, technical assistance, and educational activities aimed at students, entrepreneurs, carpenters, builders, and residents interested in joining the forest-industrial chain.
The agreement includes courses on furniture assembly, digital design applied to carpentry, construction of wooden housing modules, and training related to the financing of productive projects, generating new training and employment opportunities for the people of Concordia.
The Secretary of Productive Development, Sebastián Arístide, highlighted that “this agreement is an example of how joint work between the State, institutions, and the productive sector can be transformed into concrete opportunities for our residents. We want more young people, workers, and entrepreneurs to access training tools that allow them to develop, generate income, and find new job opportunities. Concordia has enormous potential in the forest-industrial chain and we must continue to strengthen that path,” he expressed.
Likewise, Arístide remarked that “training is one of the keys to development. That is why we support initiatives that link knowledge, innovation, and production, generating a positive impact both for individuals and for the growth of the city.”
For her part, María Elisa De las Heras valued the continuity of the joint work between the institutions and highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen spaces for training and knowledge transfer to add value to local production.
In addition to the training, the agreement provides for technical assistance actions for productive and housing projects, as well as surveys and studies that allow for the improvement of future initiatives linked to wood construction and sustainable development.
From the Secretariat of Productive Development, they pointed out that this initiative is part of the public-private articulation policies promoted by the municipal administration to encourage investment, innovation, training, and job creation, strengthening the productive framework of Concordia and the region.
The agreement is part of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, a comprehensive strategy promoted by the Municipality of Concordia that seeks to consolidate the city's growth through the strengthening of production, job creation, human resource training, and the articulation between the public sector, institutions, and the private sector.
“Each of these actions responds to a vision of the city that we are building together with the institutions and the productive sector. The Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial marks the path for us to generate more opportunities, more training, and more development for the people of Concordia,” concluded Arístide.
