Mayor Francisco Azcué and the Minister of Security and Justice of the Province Néstor Roncaglia shared an agenda of activities in our city this Tuesday, which included visits and meetings at the Concordia Departmental Police Headquarters and the Motorized, Mounted, Canine, and Rural Crimes sections, accompanied by the Chief of the Entre Ríos Police, Commissioner General Claudio González, and the Departmental Chief, Commissioner José María Rosatelli.
They were also at Penal Unit No. 3, where they were received by its director, Prefect Jorge Vera.
In this regard, Roncaglia, after valuing the work performed daily by the Entre Ríos police, stated that “the message is clear for the residents of Concordia and Entre Ríos: the State is taking care, not only of the scourge of drug trafficking but also of security in general. It is an obligation we have as a provincial government.”
“We are having record raids, most of them in Concordia and Paraná, which are the two largest cities in the province. But the work is a single front throughout Entre Ríos. We always discuss this with Governor Rogelio Frigerio, and the truth is that it brings us great peace of mind because we place that trust in our police,” maintained Roncaglia.
For his part, Mayor Azcué reaffirmed his commitment to public security, highlighting that, although it is a provincial competence, he cannot ignore a problem that directly affects the residents of Concordia. At the same time, he stressed that “there is a strong political decision, driven by the governor, to work together as part of the same team and management project.”
In that sense, he highlighted the work of the provincial force, noting that “I have worked with them when I was a prosecutor, and what I see is a vocation for service, self-respect, and patriotism. That is what we need to lift this province and this country: people willing to give everything, even their lives, if necessary.”
Chief of the Entre Ríos Police Commissioner González thanked Minister Roncaglia for his accompaniment and constant support to the Police, as well as the permanent collaboration they receive from the municipal administration. “We must value the work they do daily from the municipal administration with our force, accompanying us, and we value it. On the other hand, it is gratifying to visit each section because it is there, in the workplace, where our officers perform their duties and where the minimum and necessary conditions must be guaranteed to carry out their work, their function, and their mission.”
Finally, the Departmental Police Chief, Commissioner Rosatelli, stated that the Minister's monthly visit strengthens the work between the provincial and municipal governments. “Both the Minister and the Chief of Police of the province, together with the Mayor, periodically visit the personnel, not only to bring new work resources but also to provide direct and sustained support to the tasks carried out in the territory. This accompaniment translates into concrete results: daily procedures reflect firm and coordinated action against crime, especially regarding drug dealing and incidents of robbery and aggravated robbery.”
