The mayor Enrique Cresto together with the vice-mayor Armando Gay and Aldana Liubici, coordinator of the Student Residence of the Municipality of Concordia in Paraná, were touring its facilities in the provincial capital, which in a few days will begin to receive students from our city.
“The idea was to tour the house to see if everything was in condition to begin receiving students,” said the Mayor, noting that the place has a capacity for 20 people, most of them children of municipal workers. “Each young person receives a scholarship from the Provincial Scholarship Institute and can stay in the residence for a year, and then they have to give up their place to a new group of students coming from Concordia,” explained Aldana Liubici, coordinator of the house.
“Education occupies a prominent place in the initiatives of Mayor Cresto's administration,” observed Liubici. She also made reference to the strengthening of the CDIs, the Educando en Movimiento program, and the creation of the School of Trades. “The Student Residence is part of those programs, giving the opportunity to young people who perhaps do not have all the possibilities to leave Concordia to study elsewhere,” she pointed out. “It is important that students come and feel supported and that their families have the peace of mind that their children are in a good place,” added Liubici.
The Student Residence of the Municipality of Concordia was born back in 2006 on the initiative of the then-mayor Juan Carlos Cresto and had the support of Enrique Cresto himself when he was a Provincial Deputy. It is managed by the municipality and has the support of the Provincial Government.
