On Friday morning, the mayor Francisco Azcué participated in the commemorative ceremony for the 216th Anniversary of the Argentine Army, which was held at the “Santiago Apóstol” Parade Ground of the 6th Tank Cavalry Regiment Blandengues.
“It is an honor to be part of such an important date for the Army due to the role it plays as an institution and the joint work we have been carrying out, with professional training workshops but also in other actions,” acknowledged Azcué, who also pointed out that “we need that patriotism that identifies its members, as well as to respect the institutions, the Armed Forces, and the function they fulfill in society.”
The head of the Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Andrés Camerino, recalled that the Army “was born with the Nation in 1810, and in this celebration, we pause our activities, but without losing our main mission, which is to be prepared to defend the Nation. We do so accompanied by the institutions and municipal authorities who support us in our task day by day.”
Municipal officials, Malvinas Veterans, representatives of institutions, and family members were present.
