On Thursday, Mayor Francisco Azcué participated in the inauguration ceremony of the new authorities of the Uruguay Delegation to the Mixed Technical Commission of Salto Grande, an occasion during which he spoke with the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, about various aspects concerning the productive development of the region where the Uruguay River plays a fundamental role.
One of the topics was the Barge Port project in the Benito Legerén area, which the current municipal administration is promoting, for which it is necessary for the Administrative Commission of the Uruguay River (CARU) to proceed with the dredging of the San Francisco passage, allowing for a navigability of 10 feet.
In this regard, Mayor Azcué maintained that “this is a strategic work that will boost regional integration and development, benefiting both Concordia and Salto, achieving connectivity with maritime ports for the development of exports. We are working for a more connected, productive region that improves opportunities for more companies to settle in our city and generate jobs for the people of Concordia.”
The inauguration ceremony for the new authorities was held at the Uruguay Delegation to the CTM, which is now headed by Gonzalo Casaravilla, while Elbio Machado and Nicolás Urrutia Gaucher were appointed as delegates.
