The Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS) informs the community that on Saturday, June 6, from 00:00 hours until approximately 19:00 hours, a scheduled shutdown of the Water Treatment Plant will be carried out with the objective of executing fundamental maintenance and infrastructure works to optimize the drinking water service throughout the city.
During that period, the production of drinking water will be temporarily stopped, so residents are requested to make responsible use of household reserves and take the necessary precautions to minimize the impact of the interruption.
The intervention will allow progress in the sectorization of the distribution network, a strategic improvement that will facilitate the control of flow rates and pressures, optimize the operation of the system, and allow future maintenance or repair tasks to be carried out more efficiently.
PLANNED WORKS
Among the scheduled tasks, the following stand out:
The installation of four 355-millimeter master gate valves, fundamental devices for regulating and sectorizing the flow leaving the Water Treatment Plant.
The renewal of secondary valves of different diameters, in order to improve the operability of the network.
These actions are part of the modernization and strengthening plan for sanitary infrastructure that EDOS has been developing to improve the quality and reliability of the service received by the residents of Concordia.
RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COMMUNITY
Given the scheduled interruption of the service, it is recommended:
Store drinking water in advance in clean containers for consumption and personal hygiene.
Use water rationally during the hours prior to the start of the operation.
Avoid non-essential uses, such as washing vehicles, sidewalks, or watering green spaces.
Postpone, as much as possible, the use of washing machines, dishwashers, or other high-consumption equipment.
Once the tasks are completed, the recovery of the service will be gradual, so some sectors could register low pressure during the first hours until the complete normalization of the system.
EDOS appreciates the understanding of the community and highlights that these works are fundamental to continue improving the infrastructure and guarantee a more efficient and reliable service for all residents of Concordia.
