The Deliberative Council approved a key extension for Professional Licenses. It acknowledged the report on a multi-million water works project for the Masvernat Hospital. The session also highlighted the recognition of the Agrotécnica San Martín school on its 50th anniversary and the designation of Concordia as the host city for the National Karate Championship.
The Deliberative Council of Concordia held this Thursday July 3rd its 15th Ordinary Session, presided over by the vice-mayor Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza. The thirteen council members addressed a total of 26 projects, highlighting the extension of the Ordinance regarding professional licenses, and acknowledged an important budget modification for water works at the Masvernat Hospital. The session was attended by students and teachers from the Instituto D-165 "Nuestra Señora de Itatí", who closely followed the legislative proceedings. The deliberative body will resume its activities on July 24th.
Professional Licenses: 60 more days of deadline
One of the central points of the day was the unanimous approval of the extension for 60 days of the application of Ordinance No. 38,580, which regulates professional driver's licenses. This measure seeks to give the city time to implement all the necessary requirements for the renewal of these licenses, a problem that, as councilman Felipe Sastre highlighted, originated from a resolution by the national government.
Strategic Investment: More than $40 million for water works at the Delicia C. Masvernat Hospital
In a significant step for local health infrastructure, the Council acknowledged a report on the important modification of the 2024 Budget, issued by the Executive Department (Decree No. 605/25). This reform allocated more than 40 million pesos for "Masvernat Hospital Water Works", a crucial investment to improve service in one of the most important health centers in the region, concluded the president of the deliberative body, Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza.
Recognitions and Sports Culture
The session was also the scene of several recognitions. Special mention was made of the Escuela Agrotécnica N° 24 Gral. San Martín for its upcoming 50th anniversary, valuing its active participation in the community and its commitment to local production. (Silvina Ovelar). In addition, the formal delivery of the Project of Resolution of Municipal and Educational Interest was made to the magazine “Heroínas de Malvinas”, prepared by 5th-grade B students of Secondary School No. 25 “Gral. San Martín”, recognizing its cultural, historical, and social value.
In the sports field, the Project of Resolution declaring the National Karate Championship of Municipal Interest, which will take place on September 20th and 21st, was approved, making Concordia the host of this important competition (Silvina Ovelar)

Tributes and Political Reflections
The legislative day included tributes by the council members:
- Claudia Villalba and Guillermo Satalía Méndez (Más para Entre Ríos) commemorated a new anniversary of the passing of Juan Domingo Perón, remembering his figure and his legacy associated with the "three flags" of Peronism.
- Satalía Méndez expressed his solidarity with the workers affected by the loss of jobs at the national, provincial, and local levels, attributing it to "adjustment decisions by the governments that always fall upon the working sector".
- Felipe Sastre lamented the "bad decisions of the political class" which, in his view, led the country to face a multi-million dollar lawsuit over YPF, noting that these issues "must challenge us" and are one of the causes of the "adjustments that, of course, no one can like".
